How’s the site design?

Hey everyone, this is kind of just a meta-blog post. I wanted to ask for feedback on how the website looks. I think it looks awesome and I am so thankful for my friend, Jason, who helped set the site up with me. Great friends are worth keeping, guys! Just some wise words. I do love the overall look of it. My logo was done by myself, so excuse its simplicity. But I think it fits well with the theme of things. The background image was also a photograph I took myself of one of my computer builds. I set the focus primarily on the video card, since there is no gaming power without the card, right? 🙂 I look forward to adding more content to the site through the year, as long as my readers keep reading. Do send feedback, though. I’d also love to hear about what...

A typical day

A typical day

I do get a few emails once in a while that ask a little bit more about my life. I thought writing about a typical day for me would be an awesome way to share that with you guys. Again, I do appreciate everyone that contacts me. I love all my readers and I am glad that my blog has picked up in a relatively short time. I usually wake up early in the morning, say something like 7am. It has always been a habit to wake up this early. I also should mention I do it without an alarm whatsoever. I love waking up naturally in the morning, so I have trained myself to just wake up whenever it’s time. I work at 10am every day anyway so I have some runtime if I ever get late, which never happens. I get a morning tea from Starbucks and bring along my laptop, which thanks...

The best deal from this holiday

The best deal from this holiday

So holiday buying season is pretty much being wrapped up. Black Friday and Cyber Monday were awesome, and so were the rest of the deals leading up to the end of the year. My favorite one, however, was the Xiaomi Air 13 going on sale for a ridiculous price. For those that don’t know, the Air 13 is Xiaomi’s entry into the premium laptop industry. It’s their direct response to the Apple Macbook Air. It is a lightweight 13″ laptop that is supposed to be as strong as the Macbook Pro, not the Macbook Air. So it has some hefty expectations it has set for itself. The deal on Black Friday was $749 for the Xiaomi Air. Read this, its actual retail price is $1459. So it’s almost a half off saving for the laptop. Of course, if you have no idea...

How much does RAM matter in a gaming rig?

Building a gaming PC is a hard thing to do because there are various things to consider. You can find an array of processors, graphics and RAM types and capacities. As you follow some basic guides, you can come up with a good gaming PC. However, the question arrives: how much RAM capacity is sufficient to play almost every game? This is hard to find the right capacity but doing so can help in many ways. Most of the games launched in 2017 can be played with 8GB of RAM and this can be called as the standard one. Why I got into sound engineering

Why I got into sound engineering

For those that don’t know or didn’t read this page, I used to do a bunch of sound engineering for a band called The Long Winters. Now I am the director of technology for a great firm and handle a multitude of hardware. But it all started when I was playing with my electronic keyboard back when I was just starting college. I had the classic MD-2000. Playing around with it was really exciting, as I kept working on different sounds. That’s actually when I thought I should go into music engineering. Not because I loved music, but because I liked the different sounds my keyboard could make. I connected the keyboard to the computer I got for my birthday and got to work with some programs. FL Studio was the cheapest option at the time, and it still...
